COUNTERCLAIM REVIEW
the submission period is now open for the 5th issue of c-c’s literary journal! the theme = LABOR, whatever that means, and however that feels, to you. whether your work is on grit, birth, blood, sweat, tears, radical rest, unions, ant farms, etc., submit away! the only guidelines:
please do not include identifying information in the file you upload. blind submissions only.
if submitting written work, do not submit more than 10 pages (please make sure your writing is double-spaced, if submitting prose).
if submitting art, do not submit more than 10 images.
we do not accept previously published work. by submitting your work to counterclaim, you agree to only submit work that is unpublished. though simultaneous submissions are permitted (and encouraged!), please notify us promptly of any acceptances of this work elsewhere.
all forms of writing and visual art will be reviewed.
note that we do not have the bandwidth to respond to submissions we are not interested in publishing. thanks for understanding.
deadline is august 31, 2025. this issue will most likely be published in december 2025!

Upon publication, copyright is yours. If your work is reprinted, we ask that you please include us in our acknowledgements. c-c reserves the right to reprint this journal issue in its entirety. Material featured in the journal may be reused by c-c for noncommercial promotional purposes. If your work includes a quotation from a published work that is not in the public domain, you are required to secure permission from the copyright holder before the journal is published. c-c is not responsible for securing permissions.
